hedgehog itchy, mites?

Lay has been scratching all week and dropping quills on the carpet. Took him to the vet in Phasi Charoen, they say mites, maybe from the new cage bedding I bought online. Vet gave spot on drops and a special wash. I have to clean the cage every 2 days now which is so tiring.

Gold is fine, no ticks at least this time. Gold is 7 now and the vet checked his kidney blood test, looks okay but need to watch his water intake. Gold drinks a lot in hot season, I think that is normal?

Ask your vet before you use any dog flea medicine on a hedgehog, a friend nearly killed hers that way.
