Maya finally came out

Maya was hiding for 3 weeks after we adopt her from the shelter. We put food and litter in the bedroom and she stayed under the wardrobe, only came out at night when the flat was quiet. My husband was very worried, he say she will never come out. The vet say it is normal for a cat with a scary past. Let her decide, dont pull her out. We put the bed close to the wardrobe and a t-shirt with my smell inside. Last Tuesday she came out for the treat. Then she sat on my lap for 10 minutes and purred so loud my husband was jealous. Hazel and Batman the dogs just look at her like what is this cat. Now she sleep on top of the cupboard. She is still weird but she is ours.
