Description

Tree Tara Resort, formerly known as Jaruwan Resort, has about 29 to 30 private standalone units in a landscaped plot bordering the Khwae Noi River. Rooms are garden villas, riverfront villas and larger family rooms. All have air conditioning, a private patio or balcony, a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi and an en-suite bathroom.

Facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, an open-air restaurant with river views serving breakfast and Thai food, karaoke rooms, a meeting space, a terrace and complimentary bicycle rental. Garden aviaries house peacocks and other native birds.

In the morning, guests dining on the terrace can often watch elephants swimming in the river.

The resort is in a quiet, rural and mountainous riverside landscape, with cafés, bamboo rafting spots and local Thai restaurants nearby.

Getting there

The address is 158 Moo 1, Lum Sum subdistrict, Sai Yok district, Kanchanaburi 71150.

By private car from Bangkok, take Highway 4 (Phetkasem) or Route 338 (Borommaratchachonnani) towards Nakhon Pathom, then follow Highway 323 to Kanchanaburi city. Continue north-west on Route 323 towards Sai Yok, turning into Lum Sum subdistrict towards the river. The drive takes about 2.5 to 3 hours.

By train and local transport, take the Thon Buri–Nam Tok train on the Death Railway route to Wang Pho or Lum Sum station. From the station the resort is about 2 to 3 km away, reached by motorcycle taxi, songthaew or a taxi transfer arranged with the resort.

Free on-site self-parking is available for all guests, with no parking reservation needed.
